Remember when I told you how Epic Games accidentally revealed a new 2007 version Unreal Tournament 3 that would be completely free on Steam, EGS and GOG with “no microtransactions and no strings attached?” That was three months ago. Unreal Tournament 3X has still not been announced and the company is still refusing to confirm or deny whether it will happen at all.

“Thanks for checking in. We don’t have any new information on this,” said Dana Cowley, president of Epic Games. The edge.

At the time of writing an extensive description of the unreleased Unreal Tournament 3X still appears on Steam. I check almost daily and I don’t think the page has changed at all in the past three months. The game has apparently been in the works since 2021, when it appears to have appeared in internal communications subpoenaed in one of Epic’s app store legal battles.
