Rec Room today announced a new original game. It’s called ‘Showdown’ and it’s a Wild West-inspired room where players can share their Tombstone fantasies with cute pop guns. It will roll out to most platforms on August 18.

Showdown is set in a western town called Sarsaparilla Springs, where players in 3v3 squads blast at each other with cork guns. According to Rec Room, the game will launch on Oculus (Rift + Quest), iOS, Android, PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam.

In addition to Showdown, Rec Room also introduces new Maker Pen tools for creators. It allows players to “refine their rooms with chips, circuits, and new Maker Pen material.” Users can also design weapons with new specs, such as rate of fire and distance.

In an interview with GamesBeat, Josh Wehrly, co-founder of Rec Room, said, “We didn’t just want to give our take on the Wild West, because it’s a theme we really like and something we wanted to add to the Rec Room- universe. But we also wanted to give our community of creators better tools for crafting weapons and shooting experiences. These PvP rooms are very popular in Rec Room. We saw and heard from the community that the tools we had before were not good enough We wanted to make it possible for the rooms our players create to be as fun and feel as good as the PvP games we make.”
