We still have a few weeks before Samsung officially unveils its upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 lineup, but leaked images suggest it may have resurrected a fan favorite per earlier rumours. A well-known rotating bezel – which Samsung tragically dropped from the Galaxy Watch 5 series – can be seen on leaked renders of the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, shared by MySlimPrice and renowned leaker OnLeaks.

If the renders are legit, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is almost visually identical to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. They show the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic in an all-black design, with a brushed metal case and a silicone wristband with a magnetic closure. According to SamMobilethe circular display is a 1.47 inch Super AMOLED screen, and previous reports indicate that it will probably have a resolution of 470 x 470.

There also appears to be two buttons on the side (which were used for navigation on previous Galaxy Watch models). However, apart from the leaks, no specs were reported SamMobile reports that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic will be equipped with an Exynos W980 chipset, which should be about 10 percent faster than the Exynos W920 chipset used in the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 series.

Otherwise, the Galaxy Watch 6 series is expected to offer sleep tracking, body composition analysis, a heart rate sensor, temperature sensor, GPS, NFC and a barometer. The device is also rumored to have a larger battery at 425mAh, slightly more than the 44mm Galaxy Watch 5 (410mAh) and the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic (361mAh).

Re-introducing the rotating bezel is a smart move by Samsung. Many fans of the Galaxy smartwatch series mourned when it was dropped in favor of a new touch bezel in the Galaxy Watch 5 range, something our own wearables expert Victoria Song said was a disappointing replacement for the much-loved feature. The physical rotating bezel is beneficial for active users with sweaty fingers and is generally just more pleasant to use.

There’s no official release date for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 yet. The company is expected to unveil it at its Galaxy Unpacked event – rumored to be July 26 – alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Tab S9.
