JBL recently announced a set of wireless earbuds with a touchscreen on the charging case that lets you control your music – but at the time they were only heading to Europe. Now at CES, JBL has announced plans to bring the earbuds to the US. JBL’s Tour Pro 2 headphones will launch in the United States sometime this spring, and you can pick them up for $249.95, or about the same price as Apple’s AirPods Pro.
At 1.45 inches, the LED touchscreen on the Tour Pro 2 case won’t be able to show you much. By comparison, it’s even smaller than the 1.9-inch cover screen on Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 4. But the screen can be a handy way to do simple tasks like skip a track, turn on ANC, or glance at your notifications when your phone is not nearby.
As for the headphones themselves, according to JBL you can expect up to 10 hours of battery on a single charge with ANC off or eight hours on, and have six microphones to help with clearer calls. They also support Bluetooth 5.3, although LE Audio, which is about to be a major upgrade, won’t be available until a “later stage” update.
JBL is also bringing the Tour One M2 over-ear headphones to the US, which offer “up to” 50 hours of music playback (30 hours with ANC), a foldable design, support for Bluetooth 5.3 and, like the Tour Pro 2s, LE Audio comes sometime in the future. The Tour One M2s will be available this spring for $299.95.
