E3 has been canceled, according a report of IGN. Gaming’s big summer show was set to return in person to Los Angeles for the first time since 2019, but it’s been called off after major gaming companies such as Nintendo, Microsoft and Ubisoft all said they wouldn’t be participating in the event.
E3 2023 was scheduled for June 13 through June 16 with a mix of industry-focused days and days that would be open to the public. But leading up to June, there were some troubling signs that the E3 resurgence could be tough.
This is evident from an e-mail to employees and verified by IGNE3 2023 “just didn’t get the sustained interest needed to execute it in a way that would showcase the size, strength and impact of our industry.”
The edge has contacted ESA, E3 and ReedPop for comment.
