YouTube has always been the go-to destination for gaming content, and this year is no different than the two of the top ten videos about gaming. The best video of the year, however, is a sombre but beautiful story about the farewell of a game maker.

Gaming creators are represented in the Top Creators and Breakout Creators lists – with the tribute video to creator Technoblade,”so long nerdswith the number 1 trending video of 2022. I’m telling you. It was hard to watch.

Dream’s Face Reveal ranks third on the list. Revealing Dream’s Face,”Hello, I’m Dreameven set a record as the most viewed face reveal on YouTube. In addition, creator of games CoryxKenshin is listed as No. 9 on the Top Creators list of 2022 and Minecraft creator dagta is No. 7 on the Breakout Creators of 2022 list.

Looking back at 2022, it was another great year for YouTube Gaming, with new streamers joining YouTube exclusively, updated product offerings (Gift Memberships, Live Redirect, Clips to Shorts, plus more), and a major celebration of all things gaming with the interactive “YouTube: Game On” event.

Also in terms of trends, YouTube has broken the Speedrunning trend this year in the “A YouTube Speedrun from Speedrunsdata video, while the popular 2022 game Elden Ring is one of the biggest launches in YouTube historywith 3.4 billion video views in the first 60 days after the game’s release.

Next year, with Leo Olebe, YouTube’s new global gaming head, YouTube Gaming aims to grow the gaming ecosystem on the global platform while meeting the needs and celebrating the YouTube Gaming community of creators, fans and partners.
