Apple says to expect “longer wait times” if you plan to order an iPhone 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max. In a press releasethe company explains that covid restrictions are impacting its iPhone factory in Zhengzhou, China, which is currently “operating at a significantly reduced capacity”.

“We still see strong demand for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models,” Apple said. “However, we now expect lower iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments than we previously anticipated and customers will experience longer wait times to receive their new products.”

In October, a report of Reuters revealed that iPhone production could fall by at least 30 percent due to strict covid restrictions on Foxconn, the China-based factory Apple uses to build its new iPhones. As noted by The New York TimesFoxconn’s 200,000 employees were recently forced to stay in the building for several days during an outbreak with limited food and supplies, leading to workers to flee the facility massively.
