Good news for nostalgic millennial gamers: Hyperkin’s remake of the Xbox 360 controller is getting closer and closer to release. The Xenon controller was first announced by Hyperkin in November, but not much solid information was given outside of some renders and the basic knowledge that this re-release will be a USB-C retaliation for wired Xbox Series X/S and PC only.

Now Hyperkin says the Xenon controller will be released on June 6, with pre-orders his shop beginning May 5. If you love the old Xbox 360 controller enough that you want a re-release that eschews wireless connectivity and the classic green LED-surrounded guide button, the new version costs $49.99 in white, black, red or pink.

As someone who has been testing Hyperkin’s Duke for some time, I can tell you that it is a fun collectible that pays a loving tribute. But a logic controller to use today? No not so much.

Compared to Hyperkin’s Duke, a re-release of the original Xbox’s giant controller that costs $90 when not on one big discount, the Xenon is much cheaper. And I’d bet it’s a much more usable controller for current games, as the Xbox 360 controller became the mold for most modern gamepads in use today. Unlike a Duke, the Xenon shouldn’t put the user at a disadvantage with awkwardly placed bumper buttons. All the buttons we normally use today were present on the Xbox 360 generation, and the Xenon will also have View and Share buttons, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack, like the current standard Xbox controller.

Are your glasses pink enough to want a new version of the controller from Microsoft’s nearly 18-year-old Xbox? (Yes, folks, the Xbox 360 is about to vote. We’re old).
