Bluesky, the Jack Dorsey-backed decentralized Twitter alternative, now has an android app. The launch follows the release of the service’s iOS app, which came out at the end of February. However, if you want to access the service at all, you’ll need to join the waitlist or get an invite code from a friend.
There are currently some limitations for Bluesky. Because it’s a small community, you probably won’t be able to follow the same people as on other social networks. And it still lacks basic features like direct messages. But I’m currently enjoying scrolling through my Bluesky feed more than any other feed, and if the platform takes off, it could prove to be a great – and Musk-proof – Twitter alternative.
