Yesterday’s technical stock route was not evenly distributed; some companies and technology sectors outperformed others. The same can be said more generally about the tech sectors in 2022. For example, the basket of cloud stocks that we’re tracking has been down 45% so far from today’s opening, while cybersecurity index funds ($IHAK, $CIBR, etc.) are each down about 20%, a much smaller drop.
Cybersecurity stocks have returned some gains this year; they are not immune to price revision in the market. But at the same time, the cohort absorbs less water.
