Hello and welcome back to Equitya podcast about the business of startups, where we unravel the numbers and nuances behind the headlines.

This week Mary Ann Azevedo, Natasha Mascarenhas And Alex Wilhelm gathered to peruse the week’s biggest startup and enterprise news. And what news it was!

At the beginning of the show, we bickered about the situation at Silicon Valley Bank – which, of course, started a bit more after we wrapped our take. So, more to get there. But we had other stories to dive into:

  • Offers of the week: Roami (taking on Airbnb), Qualtrics (finally finding its forever home?), the latest on the VC-AI affair (Upfront Summit recap).
  • ADHD startups are a big thing right now: From a browser to gamified task assistance, there are plenty of startups in the market today that want to help people get work done and their lives organized. We’re big fans of accessibility technology here at Equity, so this was right up our alley.
  • How fintech investors are coping with the new business climate: Mary Ann spoke to seven different fintech investors about the year ahead and where they’re putting capital to work. The answer of many of them? B2B payments. Things are generally looking rough for fintech companies, but some VCs are still bullish.
  • Bias, women and how to flag a company: We then discussed Natasha and Becca’s excellently reported piece track how female VCs navigate bias through branding.

That’s it for this week! As always, thanks for listening in. Until next time you can see us on Twitter @EquityPod.
