August 11, 2014 was a dark day in the history of the entertainment world. Robin Williams, a world renown and one of the most respected names even in today’s industry, committed suicide in 2014, leaving the world in complete shock.
Best known for movies like ‘Dead Poets Society’, ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’, ‘Good Will Hunting’, ‘Jumanji’ and more, he was the most beloved Hollywood star in the world. As soon as the news of the star’s death was made public to the media, the fans couldn’t keep their hands off him, shattered and heartbroken.
A man who was known to spread happiness and make people laugh finally gave up his life without sharing the pain he had suffered all along.
The Academy Award-winning actor always had a fun-loving personality. But his friends and family didn’t know that the actor had fought a battle that hardly anyone knew about. To this day, fans are trying to figure out why Robin Williams committed suicide. Today your questions will have the answer you longed for.
How did Robin Williams die?
Fans have guessed that it was the actor’s struggle with depression or the issues with his old addictions that unwittingly became the cause of the actor’s death. It has been seven years since the end of the fan-favorite actor, but the valid reason for his sudden demise is not known until now.
The last time Susan, his wife, saw Robin, he seemed better than usual. He used his iPad and fell asleep around 10:30 PM. His last words were: “Good night, my love… good night, good night, and then he went to another bedroom where he took his own life.
The next day, Susan left the house thinking that her husband was still sleeping. But Robin’s assistant picked up the door lock and discovered Robin’s dead body at 11:45 am
Upon opening the door, Robin was seen to have hanged himself with a belt. One end of the belt went around his neck, while the other was “secured between a cupboard door and window frame in the bedroom.” Further investigation was held and police found superficial lacerations all over his left wrist. Antidepressants and a pocket knife with blood were also found.

The reason why actor Robin Williams committed suicide
The actor’s wife, Susan Schneider Williams has now released details of Robin’s health at the time of his death. Williams remained anxious, paranoid and depressed for the last days of his life. But that wasn’t the whole story.
Post the autopsy reports. It was determined that the actor had Lewy body dementia, which can be categorized as a debilitating brain disease with features of both Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.
This has a significant impact on a person’s sleep, cognition, movement, body control, and behavior. He was heard to continue complaining of “gut discomfort” even on his second wedding anniversary.

After the autopsy results came out, Susan revealed: “The doctors said to me after the autopsy, “Are you surprised your husband had Lewy bodies all over his brain and brain stem?” I didn’t even know what Lewy bodies were, but I said, “No, I’m not surprised.” The fact that something had entered every part of my husband’s brain? That made perfect sense.”
Even speaking to New York Times culture reporter Dave Itzkoff, Susan said, “It was like an endless parade of symptoms, and they wouldn’t all raise their heads at once. “It was like playing whack-a-mole. What symptom is it this month? I thought, is my husband a hypochondriac? We chase it and there are no answers, and by now we had tried everything.
The answers to what was troubling Robin were finally out, but it was late. The star was already dead and we wish the diagnosis had been made much earlier so he wouldn’t have ended up in such a tragic situation.
Dr. Miller, an expert, said Robin is a genius for battling such critical conditions for so long. Robin Williams may have left the world too soon, but his work and legacy will never be forgotten. We wish he had stayed with us to witness the positive change he has brought to his beloved world!
