Who is Corey Harrison?
Born on April 27, 1983 in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, Richard Corey Harrison is a reality TV personality as well as a businessman, best known as a regular cast member of the popular TV reality show “Pawn Stars”, which airs on the History channel. He is the son of businessman Rick Harrison, who also appears on the show.

Growing up in Las Vegas, Corey got used to business at a young age thanks to his father and grandfather. His family owns the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop that would later become world famous thanks to “Pawn Stars”. He grew up alongside two brothers and was nicknamed Big Hoss because of his large size.
At a young age, he started working for the family business, initially mainly doing menial tasks such as cleaning various items.
After completing his education, he became a more active member of the business as he showed his interest in it when his father decided to train him to take over the shop one day. He rose through the ranks and eventually became the manager of the pawn shop. He has 30 employees working for him while overseeing the day-to-day operation. The show features the Harrison family along with several of its employees, most notably Corey’s childhood friend Chumlee. The show was a success for History and became the highest rated show. The success and controversies of Pawn Stars
“Pawn Stars” was very successful, to the point that the type of programming became a popular format on many television networks. Numerous international versions of the show have been made, while similar shows have also been seen as an attempt by other networks to gain a share of the “Pawn Stars” viewership.
Rick Harrison, in particular, became a star in his own right and often performed on other shows, once making a guest appearance on “iCarly” with his son Corey. In 2011, the show partnered with the Redwood Hills Financial Group to create a limited edition MasterCard debit card.
It hasn’t all been rainbows for these businessmen and the show, though. The show was sued by promoter Wayne Jefferies, who was responsible for helping launch the show, arguing that he was cut without getting a share of the royalties producers had promised him. In the show, he often comes into conflict with various business decisions made by his grandfather or father. Some believe that these conflicts may have been made up or written to give the show some more drama.
However, he was appointed manager because of his good judgment in sales, ability to purchase expensive items at a low cost, and his knowledge of the store’s inventory.
During the seventh season of “Pawn Stars”, Corey approached his father saying he wanted a bigger stake in the store. He threatened to leave his position and go to another company if he didn’t get a 10% share. Although dismayed at first, he seemed to improve when his father gave him a 5% share of the store, promising an even larger share if he continued to work there.
Private life
Corey married Charlene Steele, but their marriage only lasted until 2015 when the two divorced.
Two years later he married Korina, but the two only stayed together for a year before divorcing – it is not known if he has any children from these marriages. He is known to have struggled with obesity for most of his life, weighing 365 pounds (166 kg) at his heaviest. He underwent gastric band surgery, in which a band is placed on the upper part of the stomach to help treat obesity. The operation was successfuland he dropped to 250 pounds in a year.
In 2014, the media reported on a motorcycle accident leaving him with a broken arm and multiple minor injuries. He was supposed to show up on his birthday when the accident happened.
