Ugliest House in America returns for another season, featuring “the best of the worst” homes from five parts of the United States. The houses will have terrible designs, malfunctions and other shortcomings, and the poorest will be transformed into “beautiful.”
According to HGTV’s press release:
“Throughout the season, Retta will deliver her heated opinions and witty critiques of each horrifying property, commenting on odd layouts, clashing designs and drastically out-of-date trends.”
It goes on:
“One property will be designated by HGTV as the ‘ugliest house in America’ based on its ugly appearance, malfunctioning and shocking design choices, and the network will award its homeowners a breathtaking $150,000 remodel, performed by Alison Victoria, one of the top stars.”
Ugliest House in America debuts on HGTV on Sunday, January 1 at 9 p.m. ET.
Season 3 of Ugliest House in America features 15 homes.
The HGTV program, which will showcase some of America’s most “awful” homes and will be hosted by Retta, launches January 1. The Parks and Recreation actress and comedian, who previously starred in Good Girls, will headline Ugliest House in America. The episode features 15 homes handpicked by the homeowners themselves.
The homes on the program will have bizarre layouts, paradoxical designs and outdated interiors such as mural “monstrosities”, poor wood paneling, velvet wallpaper and patterned wall-to-wall carpeting. Alison Victoria, the HGTV personality and fixer, will be giving the property rated the worst of the bunch a $150,000 makeover as part of Ugliest House in America.
Retta had this to say about the show:
“We’ve all seen magazine-worthy houses that make you feel terrible about it. This is not the same show.”
The six-part series concludes with a one-hour special that includes a grand unveiling of the restored home.
