Life and career
Amanda Levy grew up in Jamaica, and as such she grew up in the culture of the country. She loved the local music scene there, and it was that involvement that eventually led her to meet TobyMac. They married in 1994 and she later moved with him to the US, where she regularly visited Jamaica.
She has mainly been behind the scenes supporting her husband’s work and sometimes accompanying him at major events or concerts. When they started a family, she started to focus more on raising children – they had five, two of whom are twins.
Their eldest followed in his father’s footsteps and many songs were dedicated to him as he even collaborated with his father many times. However, in 2020 it was reported that he had died following an accident overdose. The family kept silent with their grief, with the father only releasing music in tribute to his deceased child.
Husband – TobyMac

While a student at private Christian Liberty University, he met and befriended Michael Tait, and the two would launch the group DC Talk, releasing music as a group that included Kevin Max Smith. In 1989 they released their debut album and moved on to more music, which became a bit popular.
After their record “Free at Last” they started to get mainstream attention and were shown on television. In 1995, the group then released “Jesus Freak”, which was highly successful and was certified multi-platinum. They went on a world tour to promote their music and continued to perform as DC Talk until 1996 when they released their last platinum certified album “Supernatural”.
Desiring to pursue other projects, the group disbanded and embarked on their respective solo careers. The group has reunited several times over many years and has appeared on each other’s works, despite being apart for a long time.
Solo career – TobyMac
Like the rest of the members of DC Talk, Toby had a lot of attention around him as he embarked on a… solo career in 2001, with his debut solo album “Momentum”, which reached the top of the Billboard Heatseekers chart. He started performing and touring as a solo artist, leading to his second release – “Welcome to Diverse City”.
