Born Hudson Riley Hawk on December 6, 1992 in Carlsbad, California, USA, he is the son of Tony Hawk and his first wife and high school sweetheart, Cindy Dunbar.
He is the only child in their relationship – his parents divorced just a year after he was born. Since then, his father has remarried three times and Riley now has three half-siblings, including the musician Gupic, real name Spencer Hawk. From an early age, Riley became interested in skateboarding and saw his father dominate the skateboard ramps and parks. Gradually, his interest increased and he began to demonstrate his own skills.
