Early life and family
Born on December 13, 1986 in Los Angeles, California, USA, Annie Guest is one of two children adopted by Jamie Lee Curtis and British-American Christopher Guest, a musician, comedian, screenwriter and director. After learning from the doctors that they could not have children due to infertility, they immediately decided to go through an adoption process. Annie came from an open adoption, where both her biological parents and adoptive parents spoke openly about the adoption.
Her brother Thomas was adopted nine years later through a closed arrangement, in which no one knew certain details of the adoption.
Both sides of her adoptive parents came from an incredible bloodline. Her father, Christopher, currently holds the English title of the 5e Baron Haden-Guest of the Great Saling, Land of Essex in England. Her grandfather was Christopher William Graham Guest, who was appointed Lord of Appeal in Ordinary, an active member of the British House of Lords. When the elder Christopher died, her father inherited the title and regularly attended the upper house of the United Kingdom’s Parliament until a new law was passed – the House of Lords Act 1999 banned peer heritage as a way of obtaining a seat in to get the House of Lords. Men.
Her father still retains the title, but is no longer a member of the English Parliament. Due to their adoption, she and her brother are also ineligible to inherit the English title – next in line is their adoptive uncle.
Annie’s mother, Jamie Lee, is of Hollywood royalty. Her grandparents were actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, both of whom earned several prestigious acting nominations in their heyday. Her grandfather was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor in 1958’s ‘The Defiant One’ and her grandmother was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in one of Alfred Hitchcock’s popular novels made into a movie, ‘Psycho’.

Annie Guest started her dance training at the age of 3 and joined the MNR DF family at the age of 8. She competed with the MNR DF dance team at home and abroad for 8 years. Annie’s passion for teaching and choreography was sparked at a young age when she began her teaching career at the age of 16. Annie received a BFA of Dance from Kenyon College, where she was named Best Choreographer by her peers. During her time at Kenyon she focused on classical and contemporary modern technique, ballet and somatic dance techniques, including Laban Movement Analysis, Alexander Technique, Pilates and Yoga. In Kenyon, Annie worked under notable choreographers and teachers such as Balinda Craig-Quijada, Julie Brodie, Kora Radella Feller, Leslie Seiters, Bill Young, Oliver Tarpaga and KT Neihoff. After graduating in 2009, Annie was an artistic collaborator for 3 seasons at The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica. She has taught at Archer School for Girls, Paul Revere Middle School and Windward School. Annie is co-director of the award-winning dance team MNR DF and teaches ballet, jazz/contemporary, lyrical, modern, tap and hip-hop. Annie is also adept at working with our mini dancers under the age of 6, teaching flexibility and conditioning, as well as working with dancers with ASD and other motor/developmental disabilities.
Her grandfather only met her when she was two years old, because her mother had a difficult relationship with him. Tony was an absent father for a time when Jamie was growing up.
Annie grew up under the prying eyes of the Hollywood media, as her mother would constantly take her to movie sets and red carpet events. She could not escape the attention of the public as her mother was a part of many popular cinema films, including the Halloween franchise series (1978, 1981, 1998, 2002, 2018) which she was titled “Scream Queen”; “True Lies” (1994) with Arnold Swarzenegger; “Forever Young” (1992) with Mel Gibson; and “Freaky Friday” (2003) with Lindsay Lohan.
Her father may not be as famous as her mother, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t successful as an artist.
Christopher won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy-Variety or Music Special in 1976 for “The Lily Tomlin Special.” He also received a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture or Other Visual Media, with the song “A Mighty Wind” in 2003.
Annie’s interest in dancing started at the very young age of three, and it came as no surprise to anyone. Having two successful art parents prompted her to explore her artistic side. Her parents saw her passion for it and enrolled her at the dance school ‘MNR Dance Factory’ when she was eight. At the age of 16 she taught other people to dance and from then on she took part in many dance competitions at home and abroad, in which she won several prizes.
Little else is known about her elementary and high school education, but she graduated in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts major in Dance from Kenyon College in Los Angeles, California.
After her studies Annie went back to MNR Dance Factory. She currently holds the position of team director in the company and offers classes on various dance styles, including hip-hop, jazz, tap and modern. Her past bio at MNR Dance Factory indicated that prior to her work in the dance school, she taught dance classes at Archer School for Girls, Paul Revere Middle School and Windward School.
Annie married Jason Wolf on July 28, 2019, in their renovated 1920s Hispanic-colonial family home in California, with only family and close friends as witnesses.
It was a private ceremony and no details were given to the public except her mother’s congratulation message on her Instagram account. The couple is quite private and lives a quiet life. Her last public appearance was when she attended the movie premiere of her mother’s movie ‘Halloween’ in 2018, along with the rest of the family. Her mother really understands her children’s need for privacy as she never shares too much. Of Jamie’s thousands of photos on her Instagram account, only a few captured the entire family.
Anne and her husband have no children in mid-2020.
