Early life and family
Louis Oliver Hynes was born on October 9, 2001 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, the middle child of parents Andrew Hynes and Lisa Hynes. Louis, his older brother Milo and younger sister Lara had a close relationship because their parents raised them in a middle-class family just outside Oxford. They often took care of themselves while the older ones looked after the younger one while their parents were both busy with work. His father works at a bank and his mother at a cleaning company.
It was his older brother who grew up with an interest in acting, and Louis was simply influenced by him. He started practicing acting in front of the mirror when he was seven years old, and as he got older he also developed an interest in music and learned to play the bass guitar.
Education
He graduated from a local high school in 2019 and has said he plans to attend college as soon as possible.
Career
Louis began his professional acting career in theater at Garsington Opera in Wormsley in 2015. It was for the play ‘Intermezzo’, which is often regarded as the autobiography of the famous German composer Richard Strauss.
He played the role of Strauss’ son, Franzi, who blamed his mother for his father’s absence from his life. His acclaimed performance brought him to the attention of other producers and directors.
In 2016, he was chosen to play the young Alaric in the American documentary drama “Barbarians Rising”, which aired on the History Channel. He only played the part for two episodes, but his talent was evident that industry insiders knew his star would soon shine brighter.

His excitement was beyond control then, as recorded in the… throwback photo he posted his first day on a movie set in 2018, coinciding with his 14e birthday; it was credited as his television debut.
The following year, he was featured in the film adaptation of “The Saint” of the TV series of the same title, which aired in the 1960s. Louis played the role of young Simon Templar, who was the film’s titular character. It was supposed to premiere as a television series, but due to unforeseen circumstances was released as direct-to-video and later available on streaming sites.
It wasn’t long before he landed the role of Klaus Baudelaire, the middle orphan of the Baudelaire family, in the popular children’s novel “A Series of Unfortunate Events.” The web TV series adaptation premiered on the Netflix streaming site in January 2017. It received positive reviews not only for the production and writing, but also for the performance of the cast, which included Neil Patrick Harris as Count Olaf, Malina Weissman as Valerie Baudelaire, and Presley Smith as Sunny Baudelaire. The web TV series ran for three seasons.
In 2020, before the global pandemic Covid19 restrictions were put in place, he was part of the American satirical drama series ‘The Great’. He has a recurring role as Vlad, with Elle Fanning as Catherine the Great and Nicholas Hoult as Peter III of Russia. The first season was released on the Hulu streaming site in May and was gearing up for the second season, but due to the huge deadly toll of the Corona virus, filming was halted.
To stay relevant and keep in touch with his fans, Louis started a weekly podcast titled “Louis’ Lockdown Lowdown” in April 2020 and had celebrity guests on the show, including rumored girlfriend Amybeth McNulty, along with blogger entertainer Luke Cutforth, singer-songwriter Declan McKenna and actress Elle Fanning.
Private life
It is officially known that he is currently single as there was no news that he was married or engaged.

It was believed that Louis was in a relationship with actress Malina Opal Weissman, who played his sister, Valerie Baudelaire, in Netflix’s “A Series of Unfortunate Events”, which apparently developed through constant being together during the filming of the series. However, fans believed they broke up after the web series ended. Both actors neither denied nor confirmed the relationship.
During the Covid19 pandemic, fans believe he is dating Irish-Canadian actress Amybeth McNulty, due to his Instagram post where she gave him a haircut. Again, as with Malina, no official message from either side.
