Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of legendary American singer Elvis Presley, was found dead on January 12, 2023, according to various news outlets.
Some conspiracy theorists on Twitter speculated in the hours after news broke that a COVID-19 vaccine or booster shot killed Presley at age 54. However, there was no evidence to substantiate these claims, which is why the rumors were completely unfounded.
“Sudden death” theories
Tomi Lahren, a conservative commentator, wrote just 36 minutes later The associated press (AP) announced Presley’s death on Twitter: “There have been a lot of heartbreaking sudden deaths lately due to heart problems. I wonder what it could be. Perhaps we should investigate this trend…”
Other users on Twitter noted that Lahren’s comment came shortly after the announcement of Presley’s death and that it appeared to be a reference to that event.
A big 🖕🏼 to Tomi Lahren and the right-wing garbage squad pushing their Covid vaccination agenda without any information about Lisa Marie Presley’s death.
You are godless scum. 💯 pic.twitter.com/TBNHwHvm9O

Lahren’s tweet was a parody of the “suddenly died” conspiracy theory, an unfounded rumor claiming that the COVID-19 vaccination was responsible for a wave of “sudden death.” The same baseless report about Presley’s death was pushed by other Twitter users.

The Associated Press reported that all that was known at the time Presley’s death was that she was a “complete cardiac arrest.” Priscilla Presley made the statement Thursday, just hours after revealing that Lisa Marie Presley had been taken to the hospital.

Fire Department spokesman Craig Little said at 10:37 a.m., paramedics were called to a residence in Calabasas for a lady who was reportedly in complete cardiac arrest. According to property records, Presley used to live there.
About six minutes later, Little claimed, paramedics arrived. The The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department later released a statement saying paramedics were performing CPR and “determined that the patient had signs of life” before taking her to a hospital in neighboring West Hills.
