Who is running for Sheriff of Hennepin County?
The race for Hennepin County sheriff is heating up with six candidates running. Minneapolis Police Chief Eddie Frizell is the only one current law enforcement officer in the running, while former Hennepin County sheriff Rich Stanek is one of the other five candidates. The other four are former Minneapolis City Council President Dan Bostrom, former State Representative Ray Dehn, former Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office employee Mark Haase, and former Minneapolis Police Officer Sgt. David “Kip” Kirkpatrick. Each candidate has their own unique opinion of how they would run the Sheriff’s Office and the county. All six candidates are currently campaigning and fundraising to win the election, which will take place in November 2020.
