Memphis rap legend Big Scarr (real name: Alexander Woods) overdosed on drugs on Thursday. It was confirmed on Gucci Mane’s Instagram account. The death of the Memphis rapper began circulating on social media around 7 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday (Dec. 22).
Big Scarr, along with label mates Pooh Shiesty and Fogiano released their first official single, “SoIcyBoyz,” on Gucci Mane’s “So Icy Summer” compilation album The New 1017 in July 2020. Scarr is one of only three musicians to appear on only one track on the entire compilation. His first headlining national tour, supporting Key Glock on the Glockoma Tour, kicks off March 5.
