The My Heart Will Go On singer recently revealed that she suffers from Stiff Person Syndrome, or SPS. The disease affects the neurological and autoimmune system and eventually paralyzes the person. Despite her prognosis, 54-year-old Dion took to Instagram to wish her 5.4 million admirers well in a multilingual video. She wished everyone health and happiness. She stated:
“I wish you love, happiness and good health.”
Dion’s heartfelt speech was made even more poignant by her use of her native language, which she shared with her French-speaking Canadian heritage. Despite suffering from a terrible degenerative condition, she looked cheerful in her white and lavender coat.

Celine Dion took to Instagram just two weeks ago to break the news of her Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis, which left her unable to perform to the best of her ability. She said her illness was unpleasant and difficult to deal with, but she also regretted that it forced her to cancel her 2023 tour dates.
In an emotional video, the singer described how although it affects one in a million people, the condition has not been researched enough to find a cure. The singer said she has been battling illness for a long time and that SPS affects her daily behavior. She stated:
“While we are still studying this unusual condition, we know that it is the cause of all the spasms I have suffered from. Unfortunately, these spasms affect every area of my daily life, sometimes making it difficult for me to walk and not being able to use my vocal cords to sing like I used to.”
Despite the bad news about her health, Celine Dion once again took to Instagram to wish her fans a happy holiday season. She used her French-Canadian heritage to make people’s Christmas wishes multilingual.
She started the video by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas in both English and French. Celine wrote in the post’s caption:
“Everyone should have a Merry Christmas. Happy holidays to everyone.”
She postponed her trip due to the epidemic and then again in January due to health concerns.
