In their new competition series Battle of the Bling, social media celebrity Todrick Hall and HGTV designer Kim Myles search for America’s “swankiest mansion.” The program launches Friday, December 9 at 10 p.m. ET on HGTV, with two 30-minute episodes shown back-to-back, headlined by Blingiest Place for a Party and Bling with a View. Each episode of the program features houses that are judged and one house that emerges as the winner, beating the other two. Fans can follow the Battle of the Bling series through the HGTV Go app, where episodes are posted a day after they air on television.
Battle of the Bling will have five finalists choose from a total of 15 houses with lots of blingy elements. Hairy walls, mirrored fireplaces, breathtaking vistas and even a pirate cave are among the features. Only one of the finalists will take home the “Blingiest of the All” award, bragging rights and an article in HGTV magazine. Throughout the series, popular HGTV personalities such as Jackie Siegel, Keith Bynum and Alison will assist Victoria Hall and Myles in making choices and forming judgments.
About the Battle of the Bling hosts and judges
Kim Myles, 48, of Bakersfield, California, started arranging items in her home at a young age out of curiosity, even making her own art prints for objects. Myles attended the Pacific Conservatory of Performing Arts after graduating from West High School and received her Associate of Arts degree in the mid-1990s.
Kim entered the field of cosmetics after struggling to make a living as an actor. She did hair for various theater performers. She and her husband, Scott Myles, founded their own ice cream company in 2003. Her business was a great success, but she struggled to manage it. Only then did Myles become a contestant on the HGTV program Design Star. She won the competition and was given the opportunity to produce her own HGTV program. Kim co-hosted her own remodeling program, Myles of Style, in 2008 with expert carpenter Anthony Gilardi. She has since participated in other home improvement series, including Homemade Simple, and will soon be reviewing Battle of the Bling.
