All the Truth About Kevin Scott Richardson – Age, Childhood and Upbringing
Kevin Scott Richardson was born on October 3, 1971 in Lexington, Kentucky, the youngest of three siblings of parents Jerald Wayne Richardson, Sr. and his wife Ann C. (née Littrell); his mother is Brian Littrell’s mother.
He spent his first nine years of life on a 10-acre farm before moving to Cathedral Domain Camp, a church-owned youth camp operated by his father. He was the camp counselor and participated in the camp talent show for nine years. There he met Keith McGuffey, now best known as Trey D, a singer and composer.
Growing up, he was an outdoor kid riding a horse at the age of four. He would also ride dirt bikes, captain of the Estill Engineers cycling team. Another love was music, and when he was nine years old he started playing the piano by ear, even though he had been a member of the church choir before that.

Before joining the Backstreet Boys, Kevin struggled to get his career started. After talking with his father, Kevin flew with his best friend Jimmy to Orlando, Florida, and began his career as a model and musician.
Gradually, he began to monetize his other talents, including writing music, performing live in dinner clubs, as a dance instructor, and as an extra in films.
After a while, he joined Walt Disney World, where he played several characters, including: aladdinPrince Eric, one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Tigger and Sebastian the Crab in the Little Mermaid show. As his career progressed, he was given more opportunities to prove himself and appeared in musicals, but was then forced to return home as his father’s health deteriorated.
His father was diagnosed with colon cancer and died in August 1991, and Kevin spent another year in Kentucky before returning to Orlando, this time with encouragement from his mother.
There he got a part in a musical, and then in 1993 he heard about the Backstreet Boys audition and after his first performance he was brought into the group. Shortly after, his half-brother Brian was invited to join the group, and Backstreet Boys were ready to take the world by storm.

Although the song was only a minor success in the US, it became a hit in Europe and they went on a summer tour there. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1996 and topped the charts in Australia, Austria and Switzerland, achieving platinum status in countries around the world with 10 million copies sold worldwide.
They continued to improve with their next albums, “Backstreet’s Back” (1997), “Millennium” (1999) – their most successful album, topping the charts in several countries including the US, UK, Austria, Canada and others – and then “Black & Blue” (2000) and “Never Gone” (2005). Kevin was out of the band for the next two albums, but returned in 2012 for the album “In a World Like This”, released in 2013.
Their most recent release is the 2019 album “DNA”, which became their third album to top the Billboard 200 chart.

He is known for his performance in the play “Chicago” as Billy Flynn; the particular play has become very popular, and after its Broadway production he toured the US with the play in 2003, returning in 2006 and with the rest of the cast to perform in Japan and Canada.
