Activision said the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II beta that closed yesterday was the largest in franchise history. It had the most players, most hours of player and most games played on the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and PC platforms combined.
Unfortunately, Activision didn’t say how many people were playing. The game will officially launch on October 28, but early access to the campaign will begin on October 20 for those who pre-order the game.
Shortly after that comes the launch of the all-new, free-to-play Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0’s release on November 16, and the new Warzone Mobile launches next year. All of these Call of Duty games will run on the same engine for the first time.
Warzone Mobile also has 15 million pre-registrations on Google Play. When that hits 25 million, Activision will release a reward to the community.
I’ve gone all the way up in the open beta for Modern Warfare II, and so I’m getting rewards too. Also check out my video of my best round from the beta played on PC in Ground War mode on the Sa’id map, where 32 human players compete against 32.
I had 42 kills and seven deaths. I can’t remember doing that well before. Hey, if the game allows me to do that more often, it’s my all-time favorite.
