Business Insider reported that McMahon participated in a panel discussion when she revealed her company’s possible new direction. Boxing is hard for fans to follow, according to McMahon. World titles are everywhere and it’s hard to keep track of who is the real champion of certain weight divisions.

“Who’s the Lineal Champion? Who’s the WBC Champion?” McMahon asked rhetorically before going on to say, “It’s kind of like it’s everywhere.”

McMahon hinted that boxing is just one of many sports her company could get into next, stating that regardless of the sport, it should tie in with what the WWE is capable of. According to the 46-year-old executive, boxing’s fractured nature could benefit from the same organization her father Vince McMahon instilled in pro wrestling.

The elder McMahon, in his daughter’s words, “had the chance to roll up all those different areas and create one big brand in WWE that has now transitioned from a regional, territorial content game to a global media franchise.”

Stephanie McMahon says now might be a good time to replicate that approach with boxing.

All martial arts have had special crossover events, pitting boxers against mixed martial arts professionals and MMA champions entering the wrestling ring. But McMahon discussed something more long-term and official. What isn’t clear at this point is when the WWE will start moving.
