Ubisoft announced earlier in September that all Ubisoft titles purchased on the cloud gaming platform will be eligible for transfer to PC, promising to share “specific details and the impact for Ubisoft+ subscribers at a later date.” 9to5Google reports now that this migration process quietly started on Friday 16 December.
Games that support cloud cross-save may have transferred game save data to a user’s Ubisoft Connect account
Users have seen the game licenses automatically transferred to the PC via Ubisoft Connect (as opposed to individual game codes being released manually), suggesting that users link their Ubisoft and Google Stadia accountsbut it’s not clear what exactly is causing the game transfers.
Some Reddit users report that not every Ubisoft game purchased for Stadia has been migrated to their Ubisoft Connect account. It’s also worth noting that only a limited number of Ubisoft games support cloud cross-save, so game save data for all titles is not guaranteed to transfer to Ubisoft Connect.
There is no word yet from Google or Ubisoft on how these automatic game transfers might affect refunds issued for Stadia games, add-ons, and subscription fees. There’s also nothing to indicate which games in your Ubisoft Connect library have been transferred from Stadia, nor is there any notification to alert users that a transfer has occurred.
