Samsung has officially unveiled an Unpacked event on February 1, when we’ll almost certainly see its Galaxy S23 series flagship smartphone lineup. If we can take a look at the past few years, the next three weeks will be filled with news about the upcoming smartphones from both official and unofficial sources. These Samsung China teaser trailers fall into the former camp.

Sticking with the gadgets is the news that Apple could add fancy new MicroLED displays that it’s designed internally on future smartwatches and eventually even phones. MicroLED is a promising new display technology that could eventually combine the contrast ratio of OLED with the brightness of LCD, but so far it’s only made it to Samsung’s super-sized (and super-priced) TVs.

Finally, things aren’t looking good for Parler, the social media network that bills itself as a “censorship-free” alternative to the likes of Twitter. According to sources, it has laid off about 75 percent of its staff since late November, and when we tried to reach out to the company for comment, an outside PR rep told us they no longer work there.
