Equity goes live at businesskinda.com Disrupt
Hello and welcome back to Equity, a podcast about the business of startups, where we dig into the numbers and nuance behind the headlines. And for the first time in the show’s history, the businesskinda.com pod Disrupt opened on the big stage. Alex, Natasha and Mary Ann got together to record in person for the very first time, and it went just as wild as you thought it would be (we forgot makeup feels like that!).
We started with a deal of the week, which, in typical Equity style, was supposed to be about a snarky comeback story and inequality. Then we talked about our three themes of the year, ranging from reputation checks to sloppy requests to natural grace as a leadership style.
- Natasha wanted to talk about, in her own words, the nuance of reputation, but more importantly when it matters and when it is ignored.
- Alex wanted to riff on being forced to learn how to be sloppy, after a long period of maybe being overcrowded.
- Finally, Mary Ann wanted to discuss the importance of humility. Which we honestly don’t talk about enough.
