Drink Masters will pit 12 mixologists against each other in a unique tournament. The Netflix show has a top prize of $100,000 and the opportunity to become the first-ever Ultimate Drink Master. To do this, the contestants must impress the show’s judges, Frankie Solarik and Julie Reiner, with Tone Bell as the presenter.
Kapri Robinson, the host of the Soul Palate podcast, is one of the contestants who will enter the mixology contest. Kapri is also the creator of Chocolate City’s Best, a non-profit organization. The goal is to create platforms that connect black and brown individuals in the food and beverage industry with people who can help them progress professionally.
The synopsis of the show is as follows:
“Twelve of the world’s most creative mixologists infuse, swirl and blend their way through a series of high-stakes cocktail challenges for a chance to win a life-changing reward and the title of The Ultimate Drink Master.”

Meet Kapri Robinson before she appears on Drink Masters.
A potential contender for Drink Masters, Kapri Robinson is originally from Washington, DC. She wants to tackle inequality and injustice in the hospitality industry, which she hopes to achieve through Chocolate City’s Best. In addition, the group hosts a cocktail competition for professional mixologists in Washington. The competition started more than four years ago and has grown into an educational and mentoring platform where people of color can interact with those who can help them thrive.
The bartender considers himself a builder and stated:
“Creating something of yourself that organically dismantles what you consider wrong takes the energy of constantly yelling at a wall of white supremacy, racism, misogyny, ageism—all-isms.”
The Drink Masters candidate hopes to bring about change in the food industry by raising previously unspoken topics. She wants to start a conversation to break down the barriers that often stand in the way of people of color. Kapri currently works as a bartender at Allegory in Washington, DC. According to her profile, she is both an activist and one of the city’s most successful bartenders. She discussed both her work and her personal life in an interview with District Fray Magazine. She described DC as “special” in terms of both the people and the architecture.
Robinson describes her own wearing style and mixology approach as “very basic”. She also said she believes that a great drink only needs four components. She also said she likes to “go to the point”, which is evident in everything she does. She’s now slated to appear on Netflix’s Drink Masters, and her opponents should be keeping an eye on her. Aisling Gammill, Alex Velez, Christian Suzuki-Orellana, Kate Gerwin, Lauren LP Paylor O’Brien, Loyd Von Rose, Meredith Barry, Michael R. Anderson, Natalie Migliarini, Raj Shukla and Tao Zrafi are among the participants in the reality show.
