Meet the 3D designer of Making the Cut, Georgia Hardinge.

Georgia Hardinge graduated from Parsons Paris School of Art & Design in 2010 and founded her own company. The designer focuses on luxury sustainability through the use of organic and recycled fabrics in her designs. She is also heavily influenced by architecture and uses the pleating technique to create three-dimensional sculptural silhouettes in free-flowing fabrics. Her influences often include London’s infrastructure, which offers an excellent mix of old and new structures.

The designer’s website highlights her brand, saying:

“Georgia Hardinge is a modern brand influenced by new technology and innovation. The company employs a strong sculptural aesthetic and offers a three-dimensional approach to wearable items.”

Hardinge was nominated for the Sustainability Award at the Drapers Awards 2019. When asked to characterize her brand in a 2019 interview with Drapers, the designer said:

“An intriguing, sculptural, sustainable clothing company that takes a three-dimensional approach to feminine design.”

In the interview, she also said that sustainability is one of the most difficult issues facing the fashion industry.

Speaking further on the matter, she added:

“Because retail has such a damaging impact on the environment, it’s critical that we all work together to make a difference.”
