The Challenge Season 38 is intended to bring together strong bonds and put them to the test against the intensity of the game. Partners, ex-partners and best friends will join teams and compete for a share of $1 million. Sam Bird and Kailah Bird, a married couple who secretly married in March 2022 because they didn’t want a big wedding, appear in the episode.
In one of the most lengthy reality TV competitions running right now, the program will pit similar partners against each other. Jordan Wiseley, Aneesa Ferreira, Nam Vo, Emmy Russ and Anase Talavera, along with best friend Tommy Bracco, are among the other duos that will participate.
According to The Challenge’s press release:
“The Challenge: Ride or Die will air on October 12. TJ Lavin hosts the program, featuring returning fan favorites and clairvoyant novices navigating the weekly mental and physical activity for a $1 million share.
The Birds will be the only married couple to compete in The Challenge.
Sam Bird and Kailah made their romance public in January 2020 and got engaged in August. After 18 months, the couple secretly married during a romantic trip to Gibraltar. Initially, the two lived in different countries, but after a few months, Sam moved to London to be with the love of his life.
Sam described how they met in their introductory video for The Challenge, where he said Kailah snuck into his DMs on Instagram and traveled to visit him.
He claimed:
“She saw a cool looking British guy and said, ‘I’m from America, I live in Florida and I want a short vacation.'”
Kailah defined Sam in one word, playfully calling him “unpleasant.” She went on to say:
“I love you, but you’re a little annoying.”
She went on to say that he will be a great gaming partner as he is adept at “running and cycling.” Sam is a triathlete who is not afraid. Sam claims they have a bond that will help them win the game. He went on to say that his wife is a “softie” at home, but an “extremist” when it comes down to it. Kailah has competed in The Challenge before, but she has yet to win. Kailah thinks she and Sam are the strongest duo in the game, according to her MTV profile.
It goes on to say:
“Kailah is more focused than ever, especially now that Sam is by her side. After all, “till death do us part” simply means “ride or die”.
Sam makes his debut on The Challenge, but the British DJ is no stranger to competition; in addition to being a triathlete, he also participated in season 4 of Love Island UK. Although his time on the dating program was not productive, he quickly met the lady of his dreams and is now willing to fight with her for $1 million. The program premieres on MTV on October 12 at 8 p.m. ET.
