What is Matilda the musical about?
If you’re not familiar with the plot, Matilda Wormwood (Alisha Weir) is a young child with a sharp intellect, creative imagination and the worst parents in the world.
She enjoys losing herself in the pages of her favorite novels, while her parents, actors Stephen Graham and Andrea Riseborough, content themselves with crappy TV and questionable money-making ideas. A silent onlooker, she devises clever and small-scale acts of rebellion and retaliation where they are loud, selfish and rude.
“When Matilda meets Miss Honey, her inspirational teacher, for the first time (Lashana Lynch), she gets inspired and starts making up her magical stories.
