Does Frank die in Shameless?

He eventually tested positive for COVID-19 and died in the emergency room after nurses and doctors noticed “DNR” order on his chest. While there is no direct explanation for his death, viewers can speculate that he died due to COVID-19 issues and severe drug and alcohol addiction.
