Tucker Carlson’s Outbursts Lead M&M’S To Replace Its Spokecandies With Maya Rudolph

The spoke candies, or animated representations of M&M’S, no longer appear in commercials. This comes after Fox News’ Tucker Carlson called even minor branding tweaks to some characters “awake” for months. Comedian and actress Maya Rudolph will fill their shoes.

Carlson, who tells viewers he is an advocate for cancellation culture victims, launched a cultural war campaign against the sweets, which eventually led to their cancellation.

Carlson stated that-

“M&M’S won’t be satisfied until every last cartoon character is very unattractive and totally androgynous,” and that when “you are completely off, we have achieved equality”, after the brown M&M opted for lower block heels and the green M&M dropped her go-go boots in favor of sneakers.

M&M’S tweeted Monday that they are moving away from the colorful characters because:

“We weren’t sure if anyone would notice” the earlier change in spokescandies. “But now we get it — even a candy’s shoes can be polarizing.”

Skittles tweeted in response to the tweet announcement of the break, “Our thoughts go out to the spokes.” Mars Wrigley, the parent company, also owns the M&M’s brand and the Skittles brand.

Carlson mocked the new Purple character in M&M’S last fall for being obese on his show. Like its male counterparts in yellow and blue, the purple M&M is about the same size and shape.

Rudolph will make her first public appearance as the new face of M&M’s during the big game, a promotion Mars Wrigley said was already in the works. Rudolph is multiracial and has raised money for Democratic candidates like Kamala Harris and others who are regular targets of Tucker Carlson’s wrath.

“We are confident that Ms. Rudolph will champion the power of fun to create a world where everyone feels they belong,” said M&M’S.
