Kathleen Kinmont was born on February 3, 1965 in Los Angeles, California, USA to parents Jack Smith, an electrical parts distributor, and Abby Dalton, an actress. She and her two brothers grew up on Toluca Lake in the San Fernando Valley, just 20 miles from downtown Los Angeles.
Education

Career
First steps
In 1965, Kathleen made her television debut when she was a baby, along with her older brother, on the final season of “The Joey Bishop Show,” in which her mother was a regular. By the time she graduated high school, she had a short modeling career and decided to pursue an acting career just like her mother. She debuted with a small role in the movie “Hardbodies,” a sex comedy released in 1984. You’d think she’d have it easy because of her mom’s connections, but she struggled for a few years with accepting small roles. She even participated in films that sometimes would not appear in theaters, but directly on video, such as ‘Nightforce’ and ‘Winner Take All’.
Her hard work was rewarded in 1988 when she landed a lead role in ‘She-Wolves of the Wasteland’, also known as ‘Phoenix the Warrior’. She played the titular role of Phoenix with Peggy McIntaggart and Persis Khambatta, in which they compete for the last man on Earth during the post-apocalyptic era. It was followed in the same year by the horror film “Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers”, which was a commercial success.

As web series became a new medium for entertainment, she accepted a recurring role on “Zoe Valentine” with Anna Cathcart, which appeared in four episodes in 2019. She was also featured as a regular on the TV series ‘Phoenix’, a science fiction thriller aired in 2019 on Amazon Prime Video.

In 1997, she married actor Jere Eugene Burns, who is best known for his villainous roles on the television series ‘Justified’ and ‘Burn Notice’. The marriage lasted about three years – they were divorced in 1999.
