The more my white hair grows, the less I want to take and show pictures of myself. 👻 But I wanted to post a photo with this poem that took me 3 days to write and I didn’t want to rely on a photo from the past. So I channel a release from my hold on my vanity and insecurity, instead I go with the flow, as I tried with this poem. 🤍 These stanzas were born from thoughts about my white hair & my fight with a little spider to stop weaving her web on my balcony. The web made me flutter and curse every time I walked up to my balcony in the dark; it tickled my flesh and stuck to my hair. In the beginning, I used a yardstick to tear down the web. The same yardstick I used to knight Lavi since I called him “young gentleman” all the time (I called Roxi “young lady”). I don’t need quarantine to be this weird, so don’t blame that. 🤪 Anyway, after 3 days of the spider rebuilding her web – her house – I stopped beating its existence. After all, the wind must have moved her overnight, and it reminded me that one day the wind will collect my ashes and move me too. 💀 This poem isn’t perfect, but I’ve decided to post it anyway. I call that a bit of courage, not in the sense of facing fire or standing in the line of fire, but in the sense of showing vulnerability. 🤍 Please don’t steal my poem. Jodi became interested in sports when she was in elementary school, preferring to spend her free time with boys than girls, continuing this in high school where she played football and basketball. After admission in 1990, she enrolled at the University of Texas, Austin and started going to the gym around the same time. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1994 and continued her education at the Cooper Institute in Dallas, where she received her personal trainer certification.

She took kickboxing classes while attending college, but dropped out after choosing to focus entirely on bodybuilding.

Career as a bodybuilder

Jodi entered her first competition – USA Powerlifting Federation Texas State Championships – in 1996 and won in the 111lbs weight class, and in the same year she won the American Drug Free Powerlifting Association (ADFPA) Powerlifting Federation Longhorn Open in the 104lbs weight class. in three 24-hour fitness gyms Triathlon Fitness Challenges in 1998 – she won the club level, Texas and regional level, Texas, and then finished fourth nationally. In the same year, she also placed 5th in the division under 5ft 2ins at NPC Team Universe Figure Nationals.

In 2004, Jodi placed 5th, 2nd and 12th in the NPC Junior USA, NPC Emerald Cup and NPC Junior Nationals respectively in the under 5ft 2ins figure divisions. She competed in the under 5ft 2ins figure division at NPC Junior Nationals in 2005 and finished 11^e, while finishing fourth in the same division at NPC USA’s. The following year she placed 10th at NPC Team Universe/Figure Nationals and 12th at NPC USAs, before winning in the Lightweight (LW) category at NPC Europe Supershow Amateur Bodybuilding. She placed 8th in the same category at NPC Nationals (bodybuilding) and then won in 2007 in the lightweight division at NPC Team Universe (bodybuilding).

Jodi’s last competition before retiring was at the International Federation of Body Builders (IFBB) Amateur World Championships (bodybuilding) in 2007, where she placed 13th. Since then, she has worked as a personal trainer, both in the gym and online.
