How to Sign 1899 Season 2 Cancelled: After their wildly popular series Dark ended in 2020, the creative team of Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar returns. Their highly anticipated second season, 1899, is an extended historical drama aboard the passenger liner Kerberos.
To once again entice naive viewers, this latest Netflix original features intrigue, elements of terror, and a good amount of sci-fi spectacle. The story revolves around the disappearance of a ship of similar design, the Prometheus, closely associated with the crew and passengers of the Kerberos.
While traveling across the mighty Atlantic to New York, Captain Eyk Larsen (Andreas Pietschmann) and his shipmates come to locate this vanished ghost ship. When these two ships are grounded side by side, the poor passengers on the Kerberos will experience unspeakable horrors and unfathomable mysteries.
The first season of 1899 is a captivating and mind-boggling thrill trip that teases viewers with new secrets and intriguing details about the cast of characters. Each episode seems to end with a mind-boggling cliffhanger that is bound to polarize viewers.
With a compelling script and an excellent cast, the show is superbly produced in every way, from the evocative score to the spectacular visuals. There’s plenty to praise about the excellent craftsmanship here, but will Netflix make another trip to these perilous waters?

Why was How to Sign 1899 season 2 canceled by Netflix?
According to a reliable source, there will be no second season of 1899; Netflix canceled the show. Creator Baran Bo Odar verified the information on his Instagram page:
We must tell you the bad news that 1899 will not be extended. As with Dark, we would have liked to end this great journey with a second and third season. But sometimes things don’t go the way you hoped. That’s life. We are aware that millions of fans would be disappointed by this. But we would like to express our sincere thanks for participating in this fantastic journey.
Many people may not be very shocked by this. Netflix regularly cancels series based on viewing hours, but there was a lot of hope that the streaming site would give 1899 a shot, especially in light of the popularity of Dark, which has garnered a significant following over time. Perhaps this is an indication of what Netflix will do in the future, with a more brutal strategy in mind.
We feel abandoned. This is a major bummer for people who loved Dark and wished there was another series that evoked so much contemplation.

Is 1899 on Netflix Worth Watching?
Currently, Netflix has not renewed 1899, but we expect more information to become available soon. Dark, the first Netflix original in German, has three seasons and a total of 26 episodes. The program managed to complete satisfactorily and close the complex story in a plausible way.
While Dark was a fantastic television show, it must have seemed unpopular at the time. Consider proposing a German science fiction show with a complicated time travel story. But the risk paid off, as it became a success for the streaming platform. Hopefully 1899 yields similar results.
I really don’t know what to say… 1899 has been canceled 💔 pic.twitter.com/P27j4jF1ZZ

The series features numerous complex characters, multiple plots, and multiple languages. It’s simple enough to understand, but it takes several watches to take it all in. The show’s complexity and dizzying twists may put viewers off, but it may be doing the typical viewer a disservice.
Today, I think audiences want to be entertained as well as bewildered. Dark’s initial success can be attributed to this. The goal is for viewers to be able to solve these mysteries themselves. And the experience gets better as the challenge gets harder.
I believe 1899 has a lot of potential for Netflix, so I expect the streaming giants to renew it eventually. Given Dark’s past, it’s not hard to make a prediction. With this series and the ongoing collaboration with Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odarthe company is undoubtedly on its way to a winner.
