RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race Season 2 premiered Friday, with nine celebrities taking the stage. However, before the end of the first episode, award-winning American actress Loretta Devine was from season 2 of the hit show. The second season of the VH1 reality series started with a new structure that hid the identities of the celebrities until the end of their elimination. At the end of the program, the winner of “America’s Next Celeb Drag Superstar” will receive $100,000 for their chosen charity.

Loretta’s fortune has grown as a result of her 30-year acting career. She has appeared in more than 50 films and television series. She is most recognized for her performances as Lorrell Robinson in the original Broadway production of Dreamgirls, Gloria Matthews in Waiting to Exhale and Adele Webber in Grey’s Anatomy. Loretta Devine of Grey’s Anatomy appeared as Fabulosity in Season 2 of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race. She was the penultimate performer on the show in the first episode. The actress commented on her role, Fabulosity:
“I’ve had a fascinating career. I never imagined myself in a drag competition, but I’m at an age where I can do whatever I want! What do you think? It’s fresh and exciting, and I can’t wait to see how amazing I will look!”
The actress chose the nickname Fabulosity because she wanted to be “playful and a little humorous.” She stated:
“Fantastic, she is a missing part of all the magnificent divas in the world.” That’s what makes her so great. I’m just waiting to see if I can make it. This is going to surprise everyone. She’s fantastic. She is a Fabulous.”
The judges gave her performance of Mary J. Blige’s “Just Fine” mixed reviews, asking her to trust herself more. According to Judge Kressley:
“Some of the moves and dances may have been a little shaky, but remember you have the best support staff in the entire drag world working with you.”
