Elif Elmas started his professional career with FK Rabotniki in his homeland Macedonia. On 11 June 2017, he made his Macedonian national team debut at the age of 17 in a FIFA World Cup qualifier against Spain, replacing Ostoja Stjepanovi at the interval.
He also played for the Macedonia U21 team at the 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Poland. He was the youngest player on the team, with a roster of 23 players.
