broad peak, Netflix’s new adventure drama film, is about the life of Polish mountaineer Maciej Berbeka and the legacy he left as one of the country’s best climbers. The video also delves into its untimely demise in 2013 at the top of Broad Peak. Although Berbeka’s corpse was never found, he was immediately pronounced dead after he and another climber failed to reach a camp. Directed by Leszek David and written by Lukasz Ludkowski with producers such as Dawid Janicki, Krzysztof Rzaczynski and Maciej Rzaczynsk, Broad Peak revolves around Berbeka’s second expedition up the mountain, 25 years later, after his first journey went unfinished. Maja Ostazewska, Dawid Ogrodni, Piotr Glowacki, Lukasz Simlat and Tomasz Sapryk are among the cast members.

The film will be released on Netflix on September 14, 2022 at 3 p.m. ET. According to the summary:

1) Maciej Berbeka was an important member of the Ice Warriors.

Born in 1954 in Poland, Maciej Berbeka gained fame as a climber at a young age. He was a member of the Polish search and rescue team and of the International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations, and he was also a representative of the Ice Warriors. According to reports, these soldiers are:

“Polish mountaineers who dominated the winter landscape for mountaineers, especially in the 1980s, when they made first ascents of eight-thousanders for the first seven winters.”

2) As a climber, Berbeka climbed enormous heights during his lifetime.

Maciej Berbeka finally reached the summit of Manaslu in the Nepal Himalayas in 1984, completing his quest for 14 global peaks of 8,000 feet without the need for supplemental oxygen. A year later, he climbed the peak of Cho Oyu in the Himalayas, 20 kilometers from Mount Everest. He also reached the peaks of Mount Everest and Annapurna. In addition, on March 6, 1988, he became the first person to climb Rocky Summit, one of the five peaks of Karakoram on the Pakistan-China border, during the winter.

3) He was lost on his second attempt to reach the top of Broad Peak.

Berbeka chose to climb Broad Peak again in 2013, 25 years after the first ascent, this time with Adam Bielecki, Tomasz Kowalski and Artur Maek. He said he decided to climb the summit again after realizing he hadn’t reached the actual summit on his first attempt. The group reached the summit on March 6, but when Berbeka, 58, and Kowalski, 27, were unable to reach Camp 4 at 7,400 meters on their way back, there were fears for their safety. They quickly went missing.

4) The body of Maciej Berbeka was never discovered.

A rescue crew was dispatched, but Berbeja and Kowalski were pronounced dead after just two days, though their remains were never discovered. Krzysztof Wielicki, the coordinator of the winter ascents of the Polish Mountaineering Association, released a public statement saying:

“Given the circumstances, circumstances, my experience, history of climbing in the Himalayas, understanding of high altitude physiology and medicine, and conversations with doctors and co-organizers of expeditions in Poland, I am forced to kill Maciej Berbeka and Tomasz Kowalski. explain.”

Wielicki continued:

“Taking into account the time since the last message, the altitude at which it took place, their health, the current weather conditions and all other criteria, I must state unequivocally that both climbers are dead…
