You will soon be able to buy merchandise on OnlyFans (OF). The platform has partnered with Spring – the retail platform formerly known as TeeSpring – to allow OF makers to sell products to fans.
Creators who choose to activate the shop feature will show the available products and link to the associated Spring page. This way, OnlyFans creators can sell physical (and digital) products.
OnlyFans gained widespread fame through adult content, but creators using the platform range from adult entertainers to professional athletes. They can already sell videos, images, and posts to subscribers who pay between $5 and $50 monthly, charging a 20% commission.
In a press release, OF CEO Ami Gans said the partnership came about in part thanks to a “community of creators … looking for merchandise options to share another side of their business with fans.”
According to the Financial times:
OnlyFans counts 220 [million] general users, with more than 3 [million] of them create content in 2022. In September, the British company reported revenue of $932 for 2021 [million]with a pre-tax profit of $433 [million].
Spring integration gives makers the same rates as any other store connected to the retail platform. Income is directly linked to production costs. Retailers profit from the difference between an item’s base cost and maker’s markup.
Creators can choose from a wide variety of products including hoodies, t-shirts, mugs, pillows and iPhone cases.
