Music streaming service Tidal is raising the price of its HiFi tier by $1 from $9.99 to $10.99 per month on August 1, the company announced in emails to subscribers, Billboard reports. Similar price increases appear to be coming for international subscribers as well, he said reports on Redditwith users in markets such as the UK, Germany, Spain, Mexico and Argentina all saying they have been contacted.
In addition to increasing the price of the standard HiFi subscription, Billboard reports that Tidal is also increasing prices for its family plan by $2 from $14.99 to $16.99. It’s currently unclear if there will be a price increase for US subscribers to Tidal’s HiFi Plus tier, the $19.99 subscription that currently includes access to Dolby Atmos music, Sony 360 Reality Audio, MQA tracks and high resolution FLAC. Fewer subscribers at this more premium level have reported receiving messages, but anyway one HiFi Plus subscriber in Argentina says they received an email.
We’ve reached out to Tidal for more specifics on the global price hike and will update this piece if and when we hear back.
