As the economy has become more difficult, many companies have moved from buying assets to renting them. There’s a squiggly acronym for this, which is XaaS or “Everything-as-a-Service”, aka “Servitization”. An example of this would be Serve now that automates business operations services.
A new player in this space is To restfrom Germany, which bills itself in this XaaS way.
It has now raised $3.8 million in a seed funding round led by La Famiglia VCfrom Berlin, the €250 million fundraiser we covered last month.
Other investors include Lightbird, Anamcara and Angels, including Ignaz Forstmeier, co-founder of Personio, and Charlie Songhurst, former head of corporate strategy at Microsoft.
Equipme has a B2B marketplace and asset management portal that enables suppliers to offer their products and services in this XaaS way. In other words, companies invite their existing service providers and then make their services available through this self-service model.
In a statement, Paul Martin, co-founder and CEO of Equipme, said: “Equipme, for example, simplifies the process of equipping employees during the onboarding process, seamlessly integrating all relevant parties and vendors, including the employees themselves to select their preferred devices . and tools. Equipme then manages inventory, subscriptions and related costs throughout the entire lifecycle in one central place.”
Equipme says it is used by 500 customers, mostly in the DACH region, but plans to expand globally. The company was founded in November 2021 by Alexandre Seifert and Paul Martin with headquarters in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Judith Dada, Partner at La Famiglia added: “Decision makers value cost efficiency and flexibility the most. That is why Software as a Service has been so successful in recent years.”
